Cyber Security Network Specialist with a knack for troubleshooting, who has the ability to get the big picture and pinpoint the problem, and finally develop a custom automated solution if need be by using DevOps methodologies.
Work Experience
DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer
Building on my network engineering foundation, I’ve transitioned into DevOps with a focus on automation, which enables me to manage time effectively. This approach allows me to tackle complex challenges, continuously learn new technologies, and troubleshoot critical infrastructure issues while ensuring efficient, scalable solutions for development and security.
- Designed and implemented scalable CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Ansible for automated deployments across multiple environments.
- Managed infrastructure and configuration as code using Vagrant, Vault, and Terraform for secure, reproducible environments.
- Deployed and optimized containerized applications using Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and Openshift.
- Integrated security practices using SonarQube, Coverity, BlackDuck, and managed artifact repositories with Artifactory and Xray.
Cyber Defense
Jack of all trades, master of one. I come from a Network Engineering background, everything else is me trying to build on top of it. blue team, red team, containers, pipelines, web apps, python scripting, go programming. I couldn’t get it all without the basics I gain along the way.
- Directly collaborating with the DevOps team to implement a secure pipeline, actively giving suggestions for CI/CD flow improvements.
- Constantly rechecking and revising the network infrastructure layer hardening according to best practices to meet the business needs.
- Doggedly developing the skills to troubleshoot and automate the security infrastructure, which includes learning new things like Docker and Kubernetes.
Network Engineer
During my work at Isracards network team, I was a member of a 3 people team, together we managed 3 DCs in various places across the country and several remote locations. my main focus was the reverse proxy (F5 LTM) although we’ve done everything.
- My experience with F5 LTM exposed me to programming and the web stack, which is why I developed a script generator (for network devices) and a Django web app (blog clone).
- Naturally, the next step was automation, which is why I took a look at DevOps.
Network and Security Analyst
Shifted away from being the ISP to be the Client, worked with technologies like VPDN / WLC and DC-grade Cisco Nexus switches. maintained monitoring and logging systems like HP IMC / Nagios and Fortianalyzer. finally managed Firewalls and Load Balancers.
Business Technical Support
Worked with both static and dynamic routing protocols like OSPF / EIGRP, and BGP. had the privilege to see ISP-specific technologies in action like MPLS / VPLS and SDH. configured Hardware like Cisco / Juniper / Alcatel and MRV. Gained a deeper understanding of protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP while using Wireshark to see the actual packets flow through the wire, and lastly started working with Linux and Linux-based routing platforms like ZebOS / Quagga.
Operations Team
Delved deeper into the ISP last-mile technologies, technologies like ATM / PVC (Permanent Virtual Circuits) / GBE (NGN) / PTM / DSLAM / MSAG / BRAS / infranet (RADIUS) on one hand. and kept learning toward my CCNA, on the other hand.
Customer Technical Support
This was my Baptism by fire in the IT world, I had to work with all the buzzwords and terms that you’d hear about in your typical CCNA/MCSA course. words like TCP/IP Stack, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Routing table, ICMP, etc.
